Basketball Game Preview: Genoa Area Comets vs. Maumee Panthers

The Genoa Area Comets will head out to square off against the Maumee Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Genoa Area opened the new year with a less-than-successful 65-58 loss to Liberty Center.

Meanwhile, Maumee had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Oak Harbor by a score of 49-41 two weeks ago.

Maumee's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Genoa Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Genoa Area against Maumee in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-39 victory. Does Genoa Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maumee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
