Recap: Ocracoke Dolphins vs. Columbia Wildcats

Even though the Columbia Wildcats scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, the Ocracoke Dolphins still came out on top. Ocracoke walked away with a 72-61 victory over Columbia. This was payback for Ocracoke, who suffered a 57-48 loss the last time these two teams met.

Columbia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ariyeh Spencer, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five steals. Spencer hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Sawyer, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.

Ocracoke's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocracoke will take on Bear Grass Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hobgood Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Hobgood Charter is ranked 526th, while Columbia is ranked 532nd).
