Softball Recap: Pine Grove's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Pine Grove entered their tilt with Northampton on Saturday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Konkrete Kids 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jamie Dinger made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Pine Grove got a massive performance out of Madison Shiffer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Shiffer has posted since back in March. Callee Leffler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Pine Grove pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Northampton, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Grove will welcome North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northampton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Nazareth Area at 4:00 p.m. The Blue Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Konkrete Kids surely won't give up without a fight.
