Basketball Game Preview: Idalou Wildcats vs. Childress Bobcats

Idalou hasn't had much luck against Childress recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Idalou's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.

Idalou was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Muleshoe on Tuesday. Idalou blew past Muleshoe, posting an 84-22 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mules recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Childress walked away with it. They came out on top against the Owls by a score of 72-64 on Friday.

Childress is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for Idalou, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12.

Idalou came up short against Childress in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 63-56. Can Idalou avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
