Softball Recap: Segerstrom Falls Short of Hemet in the Playoffs

Segerstrom and Hemet squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Segerstrom had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2021.

Alyssa Razo spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Segerstrom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Segerstrom moved to 15-14 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Hemet, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12.

As of now, neither Segerstrom nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
