Preview: Vega Longhorns vs. Sudan Hornets
The Vega Longhorns will square off against the Sudan Hornets at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-23, which was the final score in Vega's tilt against Farwell on Tuesday. Vega was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-9.
Meanwhile, Sudan put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past New Deal 63-36 at home. The win was familiar territory for Sudan who now have five in a row.
Vega's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Sudan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 22 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.
Vega might still be hurting after the 64-43 defeat they got from Sudan in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Vega avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
