Baseball Recap: Parrish Community Takes a Loss

Parrish Community blew Manatee out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Manatee got their revenge. The Parrish Community Bulls fell just short of the Manatee Hurricanes by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Bulls' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Parrish Community got a good showing from Francesco Giustino, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Even though they lost, Parrish Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Parrish Community's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Manatee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parrish Community will take on Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parrish Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Manatee, they will face off against Bartow at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last four games Bartow has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
