Softball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Minisink Valley

After only two runs in their last match, Minisink Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Monticello on Friday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Aubrey Rotolo's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Minisink Valley got a massive performance out of Hannah Ringus, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and two runs. Those three hits gave Ringus a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiera Barry, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Minisink Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monticello only managed three hits.

Minisink Valley pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Monticello, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Minisink Valley will challenge Pine Bush at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. As for Monticello, they will take on Port Jervis at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
