Basketball Recap: Long Creek Comes Up Short

Long Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the La Vernia Bears 81-52. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1468th, while the Bears are ranked 432nd).

Long Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for La Vernia, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Creek will face off against Randolph at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Vernia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cuero at 6:30 p.m.
