Basketball Game Preview: Midlothian Panthers vs. Kaufman Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Midlothian Panthers challenge the Kaufman Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Friday... Midlothian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Midlothian came up short against Midlothian Heritage and fell 38-28.

Meanwhile, Kaufman didn't have too much trouble with Ennis on Tuesday as they won 56-42. Given Kaufman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Ennis is ranked 973rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midlothian better focus on containing Kaylee Wrenn and Aubre Prox as the pair were huge in Kaufman's win. Wrenn went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points along with seven boards and six assists, while Prox posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Prox is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiersten Thomas, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Kaufman and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Midlothian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
