Haskell is 9-1 against Anson since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will head out to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Haskell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Haskell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene on Friday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Brynlee Stocks and Paige Sheets made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Stocks tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Sheets pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Stocks went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sheets went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Stocks has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Urijah Livingston, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine contests. Paisley Chavez-Guevara was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Haskell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Anson duked it out with Hawley on Tuesday. The Tigers walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Bearcats. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won three in a row.
Kayme Elrod was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Elrod was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Tatiana GARCIA was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Shia Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Haskell's record is now 9-5. As for Anson, their record now sits at 10-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Haskell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Anson struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Haskell came out on top in a nail-biter against Anson in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
