Basketball Game Preview: Combs Coyotes vs. ALA - Queen Creek Patriots

Combs hasn't had much luck against ALA - Queen Creek recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Combs Coyotes will head out to square off against the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Combs took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over Crismon.

Combs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Washington out in front who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Washington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaimin Amador, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Combs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, ALA - Queen Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against Prescott, falling 84-61.

Combs pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Combs might still be hurting after the 77-54 loss they got from ALA - Queen Creek in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Combs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
