Recap: Galena Grizzlies vs. Damonte Ranch Mustangs
The Galena Grizzlies suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-43 walloping at the hands of Damonte Ranch. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Galena of the 51-42 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Galena's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Coombs, who scored 13 points along with two steals and two blocks, and Mia Turner who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Coombs posted two or more blocks.
Galena's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Damonte Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Galena will head out on the road to take on Reno at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Reno is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Damonte Ranch, they will be playing at home against Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Spanish Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
