Volleyball Recap: Patton Takes a Loss

Patton came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Brevard Blue Devils, falling 3-0. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Brevard scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.

Hannah Huggins paced Patton's offense, picking up eight kills. Huggins got some help from Emma Griffin and her eight assists. Soraya Hartman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Brevard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Cabe out in front who had eight digs and two assists.

Patton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brevard, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Patton will be playing in front of their home fans against McDowell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brevard, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
