Basketball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

Oak Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 54-33 to the St. Albans Red Dragons. The match marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

St. Albans had a senior duo take command as Samyah Riggan posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals and Jaycee Elzy went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points and seven boards. Elzy has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Triniti Austin-Russell, who had nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Oak Hill's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for St. Albans, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Oak Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-44 win against Hoover on the 31st. St. Albans has also already played their next game, a 51-32 victory against Chapmanville Regional on the 1st.
