Basketball Recap: Manila Comes Up Short

Manila lost to Newport back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lions took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds.

Manila has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Newport, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manila will host Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newport, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Quitman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
