Basketball Recap: Alpha Academy Takes a Loss

Alpha Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 49-28 to the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne Preparatory Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenya Copeland, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 10 points and seven steals. Onisty Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Alpha Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they moved to 9-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Howard the next time they take the court. Wayne Preparatory Academy will head out to face Howard at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Alpha Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
