Volleyball Recap: Sturgis West Navigators vs. Monomoy Sharks
After flying high against Rising Tide on Friday, Sturgis West came back down to earth. The Navigators fell 3-1 to the Monomoy Sharks on Monday. The Navigators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Sturgis West was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Monomoy work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 18-25, 26-24, 25-23.
Noelani Kittila paced Sturgis West's offense, picking up 13 kills. Kittila got some help from Sage Hampton and her 24 assists. Kittila was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
