Basketball Recap: Aldine Falls Despite Big Games from Denise Vergara and Mireya Molina

Aldine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They came up short against the MacArthur Generals, falling 55-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-15 back in December of 2024.

Mireya Molina and Denise Vergara certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Molina posted ten points, while Vergara scored five points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Molina a new career-high in assists (four).

Aldine's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for MacArthur, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-21.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aldine will host Westfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for MacArthur, they will be playing at home against Spring at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
