Soccer Game Preview: Turner Ashby vs. Rocktown

The Turner Ashby Knights will square off against the Rocktown Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Turner Ashby comes in on six and Rocktown on 11.

Turner Ashby is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against East Rockingham on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. With Turner Ashby ahead 5-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Ayden VanHorn and Gian Cavazos scored all nine of Turner Ashby's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Rocktown kept a clean sheet against Rockbridge County on Tuesday. They blew past the Wildcats 4-0. Given Rocktown's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Rockbridge County are ranked 248th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Turner Ashby pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight contests. As for Rocktown, their win bumped their record up to 14-1-1.
