Softball Game Preview: Piedmont Community Charter Patriots vs. Bessemer City Yellow Jackets

Piedmont Community Charter hasn't had much luck against Bessemer City recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots will host the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Piedmont Community Charter was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against North Hills Christian on Tuesday. Piedmont Community Charter blew past North Hills Christian 23-3.

The team relied heavily on Bailee Roper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Shelby Ostrander was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Bessemer City had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Shelby with a sharp 21-9 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Yellow Jackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The victory got Bessemer City back to even at 1-1. As for Piedmont Community Charter, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
