Patterson Mill got a massive performance out of Mia Jelen, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave Jelen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey March, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and two runs.
Patterson Mill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 13 consecutive matchups.
Fallston came out on top against Havre de Grace on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Cougars walked away with a 7-3 win over the Warriors.
Ally Underwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby Marmen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Patterson Mill pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fallston, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Patterson Mill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Fallston struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
