Basketball Game Preview: Enosburg Falls Hornets vs. Hazen Wildcats

The Enosburg Falls Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Hazen Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Enosburg Falls is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Middlebury, who was ranked 21st at the time (Enosburg Falls was ranked 20th). Enosburg Falls took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middlebury on Saturday. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Hazen put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Twinfield 71-32. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Hazen pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points per game. As for Enosburg Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Enosburg Falls might still be hurting after the 54-31 loss they got from Hazen in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Enosburg Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
