Basketball Recap: St. Christopher's Falls Short Against Ranked St. Anne's-Belfield

On Saturday, St. Christopher faced St. Anne's-Belfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Christopher's came up short against St. Anne's-Belfield, falling 81-56. The match was a close 26-23 at the break, but unfortunately for St. Christopher's it sure didn't stay that way.

St. Anne's-Belfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chance Mallory led the charge by going 7-for-16 to rack up 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mallory has scored at least a third of St. Anne's-Belfield's points. Another player making a difference was Austin Williford, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.

St. Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.

As of now, neither St. Christopher's nor St. Anne's-Belfield have any future games scheduled.
