Softball Recap: New Kent Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

New Kent's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Jamestown Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 14 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Hannah Tober was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Rounds, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

New Kent was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive contests.

New Kent has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jamestown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

New Kent will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jamestown: the pair will be back at it again later today.
