Volleyball Recap: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals

Monterey Trail lost against Laguna Creek back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monterey Trail was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Laguna Creek work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 29-27, 25-21.

Dehryn Brown paced Monterey Trail's offense, picking up 22 kills. Brown got some help from Chris Huang and his 32 assists. Brown was also a major player on defense: he and Vanell King shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Monterey Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Laguna Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.
