Football Recap: Vigor Finds Playoff Glory Versus Central of Clay County + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Vigor rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Central of Clay County Volunteers 14-0. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Vigor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sammy Dunn led the charge by rushing for 145 yards while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 104 yards and one TD. Those 145 rushing yards gave Dunn a new career-high. Demetris Johnson also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Vigor proved: they limited Central of Clay County to a paltry two yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Jabarrius Garror stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks and made six total tackles (5.0 for loss). Vigor didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Vigor's defense didn't let J.T. Wilkerson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Central of Clay County's QB won't forget Garror anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Garror is becoming a predictor of Vigor's success: when he posts at least one sack the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Vigor's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Central of Clay County, they moved to 11-2 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Vigor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-21 victory against Williamson on the 28th. Central of Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
