Basketball Recap: Omaha North Comes Up Short

Omaha North was the 76-37 winner over Buena Vista when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Omaha North Vikings fell 59-47 to the Buena Vista Bison on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Omaha North lost, don't look at Jerri'On Williams. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-17 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Amillio Coppage-Wheeler was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Omaha North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Buena Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Jarmon, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ater Lual, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Omaha North's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Buena Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Omaha North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-66 defeat against Omaha Westside on the 8th. As for Buena Vista, they have also already played their next match, a 53-49 win against Fremont on the 11th.
