Chapel Hill and New Hanover squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Chapel Hill had to settle for second. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Teagan CoyneSmith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for New Hanover, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Chapel Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Hanover, they will challenge D.H. Conley on Friday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
