Volleyball Recap: Arleta Comes Up Short

Arleta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chavez Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Wednesday.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-21, 24-26, 28-26, 15-11.

Arleta's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Chavez, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Arleta will square off against rival Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Chavez is set to take on their familiar foe Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
