Softball Game Preview: Wesclin Warriors vs. Sparta Bulldogs

Wesclin has gone a perfect 9-0 against Sparta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m.

While Wesclin's win against Sparta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 8-6. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Maria Kahrhoff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Chloe Nordmann was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ariana Middleton also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Wesclin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sparta only posted an OBP of .364.

Sparta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Wesclin, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6.
