Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for City of Life Christian Academy

City of Life Christian Academy had won two straight games and Nathan Thompson did his part to make it three on Thursday. The City of Life Christian Academy Warriors walked away with a 55-48 win over the Brevard Christian War Eagles thanks in part to Thompson, who posted 23 points and eight steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in January.

Another player making a difference was Isaac Manlove, who put up six points in addition to seven boards and six steals. City of Life Christian Academy is undefeated when Manlove posts five or more steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Brevard Christian still got an impressive performance from Gabriel Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 23 boards. Mitchell is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Justin Williams was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

City of Life Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Brevard Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

City of Life Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-48 win against Legacy Charter on the 20th. As for Brevard Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pineapple Cove Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
