Baseball Recap: Overton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Craigmont last Friday, Overton came back down to earth. Overton came up short against the White Station Spartans on Monday, falling 22-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Xavier Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Julian Tallent, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Overton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-2-1. As for White Station, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Overton will square off against Kirby at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White Station, they will venture away from home to face off against Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on April 1.
