Football Recap: North Providence Cougars vs. Johnston Panthers
North Providence gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They secured a 19-15 W over the Johnston Panthers. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Johnston still got an impressive performance from Dean Paris, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Johnston also got help from Lyalo Harrison Perez, who showed off his sure hands for 103 receiving yards.
North Providence will face off against Classical at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Johnston, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
