Plainfield North waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Joliet Central Steelmen 62-40. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Steelmen are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plainfield North has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Joliet Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
