Football Recap: North Callaway Starts Season with Win at Home

North Callaway took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the South Callaway Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Thunderbirds have posted against the Bulldogs since September 3, 2021.

Leading North Callaway to victory were Kellen Long and Coltyn O'Neal. Long gained 152 total yards and a touchdown, while O'Neal threw for 101 yards and one touchdown.

North Callaway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Coming up, North Callaway will take on Macon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Callaway, they will challenge Hermann at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
