The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos will take on the Casa Roble Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Friday, Twelve Bridges came up short against Del Campo and fell 6-1. The Raging Rhinos haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Colton Silva was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched.
Meanwhile, Casa Roble came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Preston Schweiger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Casa Roble got a massive performance out of Ian Peatross, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Peatross has posted over his last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Easton Funk, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Casa Roble always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Casa Roble's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Twelve Bridges, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
Everything went Twelve Bridges' way against Casa Roble when the teams last played back in February, as Twelve Bridges made off with a 9-1 victory. Do the Raging Rhinos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
