Preview: Ridge View Blazers vs. A.C. Flora Falcons
The Ridge View Blazers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the A.C. Flora Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Ridge View can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Richland Northeast with a sharp 42-21 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Ridge View just coasted through the last quarter.
Ridge View had a senior duo take command as Breylon Boyd rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns and Siah Mack rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for A.C. Flora at home against Lugoff-Elgin on Friday as the squad secured a 44-3 win. The win was just what A.C. Flora needed coming off of a 49-3 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead A.C. Flora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roper Wentzky, who threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. Kendall Byrd was another key contributor, picking up 169 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Ridge View and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.5 points. As for A.C. Flora, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Ridge View came up short against A.C. Flora when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 31-22. Thankfully for Ridge View, Markel Townsend (who rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
