Softball Recap: Manti Starts Season with Win Against Parowan

Manti had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Parowan Rams 19-3 on Thursday. The Templars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13, 2024.

Danie Alder was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Alder was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Manti got a massive performance out of Hannah Daniels, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Daniels a new career-high. Dakoda Cheney was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Manti hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Coming up, Manti will take on Box Elder in a tournament on Friday. As for Parowan, they will be taking part in a tournament against Herriman at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
