Basketball Recap: Woodhaven Takes a Loss

Woodhaven has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the Riverview Pirates on Friday, falling 53-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since January 24, 2024.

Averi Westbay continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Riverview, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Westbay a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Kate Patterson, who posted 14 points.

Woodhaven's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Riverview, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Woodhaven will take on Edsel Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edsel Ford will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Woodhaven surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverview, they will challenge Erie-Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
