The Christel House Eagles will take on the Herron Achaeans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Christel House took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Shelbyville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Golden Bears 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 2nd.
Christel House was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 19-25, 14-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Christel House can attribute much of their success to Kevin Cruz Vera, who had 14 kills, five digs, three aces, and two blocks, and Jason De La Cruz, who had eight kills, six digs, three aces, and one block. What's more, Cruz Vera posted two assists, the most he's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Estudillo, who had four digs and four aces.
They weren't the only good server: Christel House was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They are 6-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Herron rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Blue Devils as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Achaeans as they're now sitting on three straight.
Herron's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Christel House, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8.
Christel House couldn't quite get it done against Herron when the teams last played last Tuesday as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
