Football Game Recap: Bassett vs. Sierra Vista

Bassett won the last time they faced Sierra Vista, and things went their way on Thursday, too. Bassett took their match against Sierra Vista by a conclusive 33-6 score. Bassett were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

The game started off well for Bassett, whose offense put up 27 first-half points. Meanwhile, Sierra Vista couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 27-0 heading into the break. The Bassett defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the matchup. The win bumped their record up to 3-2. Sierra Vista are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.

Bassett will stay at home next week against Loara at 7:00 PM. Sierra Vista will be staying on the road, facing off against Garey. Sierra Vista come in off of three low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the squad is obviously eager to reverse.
