Softball Recap: Brandon Blackhawks vs. Lake Fenton Blue Devils

Brandon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Lake Fenton Blue Devils, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Thursday.

As for Lake Fenton, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Lake Fenton's part, not much got past Maddie Stanton (2027), who gave up just two hits to keep Brandon off the board. Stanton (2027) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Laureena Baehl (2027) was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Heil (2027), who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will host Goodrich at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Fenton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Owosso at 4:00 p.m.
