Volleyball Recap: San Joaquin Memorial Comes Up Short

San Joaquin Memorial was the 3-0 winner over Clovis East when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Clovis East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Cheatham out in front who had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Cheatham has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Phasakda, who had five digs and two aces.

San Joaquin Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Clovis East, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Coming up, San Joaquin Memorial will head out to face off against Clovis North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clovis East, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Buchanan on the 23rd.
