Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Nemo Lucas and Elijah Duncan

Bear Creek fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Antioch on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Antioch Panthers.

Bear Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Duncan, who posted 13 points, and Nemo Lucas, who scored 16 points. Lucas is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joell Chet, who put up seven points.

Antioch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ke'Mari Rowe-Simms, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Rowe-Simms a new career-high. Jayden Holloway was another key player, going 6 of 7 en route to 13 points.

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Antioch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Bear Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 79-41 loss against Weston Ranch on the 17th. As for Antioch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-47 defeat against Heritage on the 17th.
