Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Giada Lopez and Makayla Rivera Lead Coachella Valley to Victory

Coachella Valley won the last time they faced Yucca Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mighty Arabs came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mighty Arabs.

Coachella Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-19.

Coachella Valley was led to victory by Makayla Rivera and Giada Lopez. Rivera had 21 digs, while Lopez had seven aces. Those seven aces gave Lopez a new career-high.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 17-5. As for Yucca Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Coachella Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Indio on the 30th. As for Yucca Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Twentynine Palms on the 30th.
