Baseball Recap: King's Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact King's Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oakbrook Prep Knights by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Lucas Fields put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Fields was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Wesley Boyce made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Oakbrook Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: King's Academy beat the Knights by a score of 12-4 on Tuesday.
