Legacy has won four straight games at home, while Pinecrest Academy Cadence has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Legacy was able to grind out a solid victory over Mater Academy East Las Vegas, taking the game 3-1.
Legacy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-22, 13-25, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence made easy work of Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted against the Pirate since September 1, 2021.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-16.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win came from a few key players Legacy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alessandra Chamnong, who had 14 digs and four aces. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high. Isabelle Arnold was another key player, getting 25 digs and two aces.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive matches.
Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their win bumped their record up to 23-16.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Legacy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Pinecrest Academy Cadence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
