Basketball Recap: Sarasota Military Academy Comes Up Short

Sarasota Military Academy played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 90-45 loss at the hands of Gulf Coast HEAT. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 777th, while Gulf Coast HEAT are ranked 369th).

Gulf Coast HEAT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cayden Bosso, who shot 5-for-8 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Bosso a new career-high in points. Westin Lacey was another key player, going 12 for 14 en route to 27 points along with six assists and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Sarasota Military Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-12. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Sarasota Military Academy will challenge Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they are taking a road trip to take on Lakewood Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
