Mars Hill Bible extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They took their game with ease, bagging a 55-8 victory over the Sheffield Bulldogs. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Mars Hill Bible got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Higgins out in front who rushed for 153 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Higgins is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 106 every time he's taken the field this season. Samuel Ashley was in the mix too, providing Mars Hill Bible with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mars Hill Bible was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 267 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Mars Hill Bible didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaxon Penn and Sawyer Mosley.

As for Sheffield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Mars Hill Bible is ranked 54th).

When it comes to explaining why Sheffield lost, don't look at Jaylen Gangar. Despite the final result, he rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Mars Hill Bible will welcome Lauderdale County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sheffield, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Colbert Heights at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
